WHAT DO YOU FEED IN THE WINTER IF YOUR ANIMALS ARE “GRASS FED / PASTURE RAISED”?
In the winter we feed hay to our livestock. It is a mixture of grasses that are cut in summer months, baled and stored for feeding in the winter.
DO WE USE HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS?
No, we DO NOT use hormone implants of any kind on any of our livestock! Yes, we DO use some antibiotics. At 4M farms we feel we have a moral obligation to keep our livestock as healthy and happy as possible with a high quality of life. We only treat our livestock on an as needed basis and only have to treat a small number of animals per year. The animals we do treat get sold on the open market and ARE NOT processed and sold to our customers.
ARE WE CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
No we are not certified organic. We do raise our livestock and grow our produce as organically and humanely as we can. The week old veal calves and chicks we buy are not from certified organic farms so we can’t become certified organic.
